WHO WE ARE

We are a marketing agency for the breakroom refreshments industry that has many clients requiring frequent website management tasks such as updating webpages, creating new landing pages, and developing new websites.

Our team works as a unit to deliver the best experience for our clients. We are looking for an enthusiastic web developer who can work independently but also enjoys collaborating with others, sharing new ideas, and thinking outside the box.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The position assists the senior web developer in executing website development projects for

VendCentral’s customers and reports to the Director of operations. The web developer must construct websites per the graphic designer and marketing account manager’s specifications and directives. It is incumbent upon this role to gain expertise in all the aspects of VendCentral’s web management systems and approaches to offer adequate assistance to the senior web developer.

● Develop new websites and web content based on Photoshop and PowerPoint mock-ups, utilizing premade themes from ThemeForest and free/premium plugins for both HTML-based and

WordPress-based websites.

● Customize web content using available frameworks (ex: OwlCarousel, Featherlight, jQuery, Lightbox, etc.) to extend the functionality of elements provided by ThemeForest themes.

● Provide creative suggestions and ideas for designs/elements and develop accordingly.

● Communicate with internal teams via tools like Basecamp and Slack to inform them of project status.

● Utilize modern coding methods to ensure mobile responsiveness, ADA compliance, and search engine optimization.

● Ensure projects meet established deadlines.

● Routine updates to WordPress plugins, themes, and core frameworks.

● Utilization of cyber security principles to prevent a cyber-attack.

● Available outside normal working hours in case of emergency situations related to customer websites if the senior web developer is unavailable.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

● 3+ years of web development experience

● Time management skills are required.

● Must be available to work regular business hours M-F.

● Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

● Seek innovative solutions by independently analyzing and identifying potential solutions.

● Ability to create web graphics and modify vector graphics in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator independently of a graphic designer.

● Ability to design high-quality user interfaces independently of a graphic designer.

● Proficiency with front-end coding and back-end web programming languages.

● Building reusable code and libraries for future use.

● Knowledge and implementation of SEO for HTML-based and WordPress-based websites.

● Proficiency with content management systems, including WordPress.

● Proficiency with launching a new website (setting up SSL certificates, modifying DNS records, quality assurance checks including cross-browser compatibility and mobile optimization, and configuring cPanel accounts in WHM).

● Experienced with hosting environment management (WHM), including account setup/modification and database administration.

● Skillful with multimedia content creation (creating and editing videos for web use).

● Ability to integrate custom or public frameworks and test/debug the coding to build custom modules not provided in the theme files.

● Ability to set up cyber security methods across hosting and website accounts (DDoS prevention, password auditing, etc) to prevent malicious attacks, as well as the ability to resolve cyber threats and clean infected files from accounts after an attack.

● Ability to develop websites according to WCAG 2.0 requirements to meet ADA compliance, including an understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to redevelop existing frameworks to meet those requirements.

● Adobe Premiere Pro / alternative industry-standard video editing software
● REST API and SOAP (preferred but not required)

The position is part-time but with the opportunity to grow within the organization and will report to our Director of Operations.

Pay: $30.00 per hour
